Patricia Thompson

Patricia grew up in Jacksonville and is a long-time resident of Ponte Vedra Beach. She graduated from Tulane University School of Architecture, in New Orleans, where she earned a Master of Architecture degree. Patricia also pursued graduate studies in architectural preservation at Columbia University and the University of Florida.

Patricia began her career in architectural design with the National Park Service, National Capital Region, in Washington, D.C.. Some of the projects she worked on at this time included carpet designs for the East Room of The White House, and historically sensitive redesign of the lobby of Ford's Theatre, to allow for handicap access to the theatre's museum. She was also the project architect for the restoration of The Old Georgia Governor's Mansion (Civil War era), in Milledgeville, Georgia. When she returned to the Ponte Vedra area in 2002, Patricia started her own residential practice. From 2008 to 2017 she continued her practice while teaching residential and commercial design, and the history of architecture and furniture at The Art Institute of Jacksonville, where she also served as Chairman of the Interior Design Department. She also served on the Board of Habitat for Humanity of the Jacksonville Beaches, where she designed prototype homes for local families.

Patricia's passion for both classical and modern design elements fuels her understanding of the importance of beautifully functioning and architecturally expressive residential space.
